  • Session 2 : June 30, 2026 – Nature as BluePrint: Plantery intelligence and Human Innovation
  • Session 3 : July 15, 2026 – One Digital Health and FAIR Principles
  • Session 4 : Aug 27, 2026 –  Informatics,  Technology & Standards  (HL7 FHIR Standard  + hands-on FHIR Sandbox experience)
  • Session 5 : Sep 3, 2026 – OneAquaHealth Hub Tools (Citizen Science App, City Dashboards. Resilience Map & GEOSSIP)
  • Session 6 : Sep 15, 2026 – Building Intelligent Solutions: AB2Q of Emerging Technologies (AI, Blockchain to Quantum & Beyond)

 

🚀 Hackathon Timeline

  • Registration Opens: May 1, 2026
  • Registration Closes: August 31, 2026
  • Hackathon Period: September 16 – September 30, 2026
  • Judging: October 1– October 15, 2026
  • Winners Announced: October 24, 2026 (IEEE iGET Conference)

 

Eligibility

  • Participants must meet the legal age requirement in their country of residence
  • Open to individuals or teams (each participant can join only one team)
  • All participants must register on Devpost before the deadline
  • Projects must be original and developed during the hackathon period
  • Organizers and judges are not eligible to participate as competitors
  • Submissions must not violate any copyright, licensing, or third-party IP rights
  • All projects must include a public code repository (e.g., GitHub) with source code and documentation

Prizes

  • 5000$ Cash/InKind Prize TBD.

In case of a tie, both teams will receive the higher prize, and the lower prize will not be awarded.

All Cash Prizes Subject to IEEE rules and regulation for any monetary disbursement.

  • IEEE Certificate of Merit for the top 3 winning teams
  • IEEE Certificate of Participation for all eligible participants
🎓 Additional Recognition
  • Top 3 teams may receive a 1-year IEEE Basic Membership (subject to IEEE regulations)
  • Eligible winners who are IEEE members may be nominated for IEEE Senior Member elevation
📅 Certificate Distribution
  • All certificates will be issued within 60 days after the hackathon
  • Expected by December 31, 2026

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

🌍 Impact & Alignment with OneAquaHealth Project Mission How well the solution improves monitoring, protection, awareness, or sustainability of water ecosystems and their connection to human, animal, and environmental health 1–10 30%
✨ Innovation & Creativity Originality of the idea and creative use of technology to address ecosystem and citizen science challenges 1–10 20%
🛠 Technical Implementation Quality of prototype, architecture, functionality, and effective use of tools, APIs, or data sources 1–10 20%
👤 Usability & User Experience Ease of use, clarity of interface, and accessibility for intended users 1–10 15%
📈 Feasibility & Scalability Potential for real-world implementation, scalability, and integration with existing systems 1–10 15%
📊 Scoring Method
  • Each criterion will be scored on a scale of 1–10
  • Final scores will be calculated using the weighted evaluation
  • The projects with the highest overall scores will be selected as winners
🥇 Winner Selection
  • Top projects will be ranked based on final weighted scores
  • In case of a tie, judges may consider overall impact and innovation for final decision
  • The top 3 teams will be awarded as winners
